MP3s Here

Warren Teagarden is a songwriter living in San Francisco who grew up in the 80's on punk rock and new wave in the small land-locked town of Arnold, California. Many of Warren Teagarden's songs are about Arnold, Ca., with themes of love, sex, drugs, and homeless people... as he says, "You know, the same shit all songs are about."

Except Warren Teagarden's songs don't sound like all songs. The idiosyncratic lyrics and untrained vocals create a new sound, falling somewhere amongst the likes of Camper Van Beethoven or Liam Lynch or a man-only version of the Moldy Peaches. On his new LP, Across the San Joaquin, Warren sings about leaving home ("The Deal"), leaving a relationship ("The Goodbye Ditty"), and even quotes a homeless man from the Tenderloin ("Haircut").

The rhythm Warren Teagarden's songs is for the most part upbeat, but he occasionally slows down, like on "Everything is Wrong," but the energy never dwindles; his punk influences prevent Warren from sitting still.

After moving to San Francisco, Warren Teagarden played in a friend's band for a while, then eventually started recording his own songs at home. Those songs turned into the songs he currently plays live, and ended up on his recordings.

Warren released an EP in 2006, his first and only release until now. Warren Teagarden's live show is a real experience; he has built a grateful following at home and on the road. Even the press has taken notice: Las Vegas Weekly called Warren's music "muy entertaining" and The Deli Magazine in SF dubbed his release "CD of the Month."

Please check out Warren Teagarden's Across the San Joaquin, which will be self-released on June 10, 2008. Thank you for listening!
